PS3 media server – made easy.
If you want to setup a media server on your PC that can communicate with your PS3, forget about Windows Media Player 11, and get TVersity instead. It’s free, and it works. The only problem I’ve found with TVersity is that sometimes you need to reboot the PS3 to see any updates you’ve made to your media library. It’s not a big deal, and it’s certainly a lot nicer than using clunky old WMP.

Watch TV on your PSP
For all the Slim and Lite PSP owners in Japan, this is something to put on your shopping list. Sony have released a cute little PSP 1seg TV tuner for the Slim and Lite PSP – being 1seg, it obviously only works in Japan, and it only works with the Slim and Lite. Let’s hope Sony make TV tuners for other world markets soon!
Use your GunCon2 with Windows/emulators!
Yes it’s true! I’m successfully using a PS2 GunCon2 light gun to play Duck Hunt, and various other classic light gun games on my PC. Of course, the GunCon2 doesn’t work with LCD PC monitors, so I’m using my TV instead. If you’ve already got your PC setup to play movies on your TV (using TV-Out on your graphics card), you’re nearly there already. Just download and install the excellent WinGun driver, plug your GunCon2 USB lead into your PC’s USB port, plug the yellow AV lead ‘inline’ along your TV-Out between your PC and your TV. That’s pretty much it. Now all you need to do is calibrate your GunCon2 using WinGun, and start up some emulators. I’ve been using FCE Ultra (a NES emulator for Windows) to play Duck Hunt, and it works flawlessly. Watch the YouTube video here.
Sony release new PSP Slim and Lite
Sony have announced V2 of the PSP, and they’re calling it “PSP Slim and Lite”. Seems like a silly name, but it sure looks nice. The new PSP Slim and Lite is available in Ceramic White, Piano Black, Ice Silver, Felicia Blue, Lavender Purple, Rose Pink, Metallic Blue, and Silver. There’s also a very nice Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII bundle available too.
