PSPAtari - Atari emu for PSP

Atari emulator for PSP

A new version (1.0.7) of PSPAtari is now available. PSPAtari emulates the legendary Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE and 5200 series. The new versions features a new graphical engine with new smoother render modes - it’s not faster, but it’s a lot smoother, and save state dates are displayed in the emulator window which makes it easier to identify and to load the right save state slot.

Virtua Stick High Grade

Virtua Stick High Grade

Sega have released a new ‘top shelf’ arcade stick for the PlayStation3, built with seriously nice arcade quality hardware. The Virtua Stick High Grade uses all Sanwa parts - with quick disconnects for the buttons so you easily rearrange the button layout. The construction quality is superb, and the design is really really nice - it looks a lot more professional than any other high end arcade sticks available at the moment. An extra bonus is that it uses a USB connection, so you can also use it on a PC for playing MAME or whatever - which is worth it even if you don’t own a PS3. It’s better (just) than the new HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3, and guess what? That makes the Virtua Stick High Grade the best commercially produced home arcade stick in the world. Yowza.

Play-Asia have the Virtua Stick High Grade for around $79 - which is an insanely good price for this kind of quality.

PSP GPS

PSP GPS

Sony have released a PSP GPS unit! The PSP GPS receiver is suprisingly small, weighs around 15 grams, and refreshes approximately every second. Currently there aren’t many games or applications that support the PSP GPS, but the list will no doubt grow. There’s at least two applications available now for the PSP GPS - Home Star Portable, which is a planetarium application that can give you information about what’s in the night sky depending on your GPS location - and Navigation Soft, which is a navigation application for plotting and displaying driving and walking routes. Hopefully once the homebrew community get their hands on the PSP GPS we’ll see some cool GPS applications for the PSP.

RoydsStick EX

RoydsStick

Yes! Interchangeable button configurations!

The RoydsStick EX is one of the coolest PlayStation arcade sticks we’ve seen - it has an interchangeable button panel, which can be swapped out and replaced with an alternate panel with a different button configuration depending on what game you’re playing. There’s currently two different panels available for the RoydsStick EX, with more likely to be released in the future. These babies are hard to find, and unless you have a friend in Japan that can go hunting for one, your best chance is to order one at Play-Asia for when they get restocked. Compatible with PlayStation and PlayStation2.
